New Starter: Kerun Sahota joins the team as a Network Security Engineer!

Having a solid background on enterprise networking, I decided to take a step into a more specialised area. As the internet gets more saturated with users and devices, online audit and overall security is becoming a hot topic across multiple industries. It’s becoming more apparent for deeper analysis on the network, truly understanding what’s going on behind the scenes – devices that are capable of benching marking network statistics, and how fast an attack can be detected.

Having previously worked at a prestigious retail firm, I have a strong grasp on how businesses rely on the network infrastructure. So, it’s a must to have a healthy network which is safe from any vulnerabilities that can be exploited, which a business can fully depend on.

After completing Cisco’s Cyber Security Scholarship, this had influenced me to push my interests over into the cyber security sector. With knowledge of networking and cyber security, this was a fantastic time to join Equilibrium working with like-minded team members who share the same enthusiasm about protecting networks.

Equilibrium have several interesting projects in the pipeline, which I’m confident that I’ll be exposed to multi-vendor platforms – This will surely add to my current skill set.

My time that I do spend away from work is normally filled with techie stuff! Installations of smart home automation, which again consists of mini networks deployed into homes. Time away from all electrical devices – normally would be a 5 aside football.
