My interests in technology really began when I got my first PC back when I was six (when the chunky box monitors were top-range!). I used to create user accounts and manage them – acting as a systems administrator. I also stripped and built PC’s and this was where my passion for technology truly sparked. When I was taking my GCSE’s – one subject being IT, I researched into the large IT field and discovered my true interest lay in computer networking. This lead to me doing an Extended Diploma in IT Networking and Systems Support at college. During the course, I developed an interest in the security field and thus, I took on the challenge of getting a degree in Computer Networks and Security. The skills I gained at university has resulted in me landing a job here, at Equilibrium Security Services.
Prior to completing my degree, I researched into Equilibrium and instantly applied for the role as I was very impressed on what the company had to offer. Not only that, I was amazed at Equilibrium’s passion and drive in the Cyber Security sector. After meeting Anish and Ross at the interview, I could clearly see they pride themselves in providing excellent client service and getting the job done to the highest quality. I also have a passion for the Cyber Security sector and have a drive to deliver excellent customer service – and that is why I am now a Cyber Security Engineer for Equilibrium.
I am looking forward to putting all the skills that I gained into practice and getting hands-on with many of the upcoming projects. I am extremely excited to gain industry experience and knowledge on top of gaining a range of certifications to improve my skills – and using those skills with our clients. Finally, I am very much looking forward to growing with the company and I hope to have a, long lasting, successful future with Equilibrium Security Services.
Outside of work I do a wide-range of things, such as: keeping up to date with current cyber security trends; being involved with the deaf community – using BSL (British Sign Language); watching football; and developing my skills in network security.
