On Sunday 24th September Anish will be donning the lycra to cycle Velo Birmingham to support the fantastic Birmingham-based blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia. For those that don’t know this will involve me cycling 100 miles alongside 15,000 cyclists on completely closed roads, through the Midlands region. This is apparently the cycling equivalent to running a Marathon…..
Cure Leukaemia is helping lead the way, internationally, in the fight against the disease. Everyone who donates will directly be helping to save lives right now but also dramatically hasten progress towards eradicating blood cancer within the next 25 years.
If that wasn’t enough of a reason Cure Leukaemia have launched a £1m appeal to raise funds towards a new £3.2m clinical haematology centre in Birmingham. This new centre has the chance to double the world class facility’s ability to treat patients, carry out clinical trials and fund specialist research, in addition to allowing stem cell transplants to be performed as an outpatient for the first time. So if you could please help support this worthwhile cause it would be greatly appreciate it.
