Business Development Manager

Purpose 

The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a vital role in the success of our team, with ultimate responsibility for nurturing and sustaining the exceptional client relationships on which our success relies. 

The BDM works in consultative fieldbased sales capacity and is responsible for identifying and developing high value-based engagements within an agreed target market with Equilibrium’s core portfolio offering.  

Role Responsibilities

  • Accurately forecast and win business from new and existing customers
  • Finding and developing client opportunities with a defined target market 
  • Develop innovative client strategies and articulating compelling journeys that demonstrate how Equilibrium’s services portfolio will enable the clients to achieve desired business security strategy 
  • Engage at multiple levels including Business Leads, CIO, Heads of Function, CFO and CEO to maximise account engagement and safeguard long-term success 
  • Proactively create and develop compelling transformational sales opportunities within the target market aligning the portfolio to the customers strategy 
  • Achieve or exceed annual gross margin targets 
  • Ultimate owner of client relationships, ensuring consistent satisfaction as measured in Equilibrium’s bi-annual surveys 
  • Work closely with the Sales Director to refine and implement innovative sector messaging and strategy 
  • Maintain up to date records in CRM & other business system so that customer details and opportunities are reflected accurately 

Experience and Qualifications 

  • Degree level education 
  • Relevant professional sales qualifications 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of selling solutions and managed services into the commercial and enterprise markets, demonstrating a deep understanding of business and service outcomes 
  • Experience of creating and managing account strategies that deliver against objectives 
  • Sales portfolio experience comprising managed service solutions and consultancy services across the security market 
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding annual gross margin targets 
  • Demonstrable track record of winning new logo accounts utilising a consultative approach 

Skills and Attributes 

  • Ability to manage complex, customised solution sales cycles that involve engagement with multiple stakeholders at all levels across disparate organisations 
  • An innate desire to establish clear competitor differentiation and a constant drive to develop and articulate client relevance and value 
  • Ability to manage solution sales cycles that involve engagement with multiple stakeholders at all levels across disparate and complex organisations 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, verbal & written 
  • Excellent level of numeracy 
  • Able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with key individuals at all levels both externally and internally to achieve client success 
  • Structured, self-sufficient and consistent approach to meeting or exceeding targets and managing forecasts, including outstanding time 

Principal Cyber Security Consultant

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will be primarily responsible for being the lead consultant on security solutions for Equilibrium, undertaking pre-sales and post-sales activities and leading the early stage of security implementations in a highly customer-facing role.  You will be working in a dynamic environment with pre-sales and post-sales design consultancy of the full Cisco security suite including Firepower, ASAs, Email Security, Web Security, Umbrella, Cloudlock, Meraki, ISE and DNA Centre in addition to complex network implementations.

Skills and Attributes

  • Being able to lead complex technical engagements
  • Able to creates high-quality proposal and architecture design documentation from customer engagements
  • Has a genuine passion for security
  • Identifies, plans and executes against identified client requirements
  • Suitable experience and a qualification such as CCNP/ CCDP and/or CCIE Security
  • Experience in the creation of very high quality proposal and technical documentation
  • Able to pick up operation of new technologies and concepts quickly and effectively

Desirable Skills and Attributes

  • Previous pre-sales and/or technical consultant/architect experience

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversees project implementations as well as being able to implement agreed design where necessary
  • Acting as a figure of technical escalation and point of guidance for implementing Engineers.
  • Working closely with the sales team and technical director
  • Takes every opportunity to improve processes and methods to ensure that Equilibrium is best positioned to deliver high value services to clients.
  • Ensures projects undertaken and delivered on time and under budget
  • Exceptional planner who delivers on commitments in a timely manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to build excellent internal and external relationships.

Cyber Security Consultant

Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will be primarily responsible for supporting our sales and pre-sales teams on leading security implementations in a highly customer-facing role.  You will be working in a dynamic environment with project implementations of the full Cisco security suite including Firepower, ASAs, Email Security, Web Security, Umbrella, Cloudlock, Meraki, ISE and DNA Centre in addition to complex network implementations.

Skills and Attributes

  • Understanding of security fundamentals as well as a genuine passion for security
  • Suitable experience and a qualification such as CCNA and CCNP Security
  • Experience in the creation of quality technical documentation such as high and low-level designs
  • Evidence of self-study and commitment to long-term learning
  • Able to pick up knowledge and concepts effectively through on the job training
  • Listens carefully to instruction and ensures guidance is followed
  • Continually improving, passionate about learning and improving
  • Good relationship building skills, able to communicate with clients and colleagues alike
  • A minimum of 3 years in an network infrastructure role, a sound understanding of security, as well
  • A desire to move into the further significantly into infrastructure security undertaking

Desirable Skills and Attributes

  • SC clearance or willing to undertake
  • High degree or equivalent experience

Core Responsibilities

  • Support pre-sales consultants on customer-facing meetings
  • Undertaking detailed documentation from pre-sales or high-level post sales capture documentation
  • Physical hardware pre-staging, testing and implementation
  • Client approval testing and ensuring implementation maintains Equilibrium’s high standard of excellence
  • Building practice knowledge by shadowing technical consultants on engagements
  • Contributing to technical documentation and procedures
  • Consistently and diligently delivering tasks undertaken ensuring quality outputs and client experiences
