Why Is Cyber Essentials Important?
Cyber Essentials is a two-level, government-backed certification scheme that assesses and verifies that an organisation has put in place basic security controls against common cyber threats.
The certification scheme gives organisations confidence that they have strong security measures in place against some of the most common and insidious cyber challenges. It also helps to reassure customers, clients and suppliers that valuable information and data won’t be at risk.

The Cyber Essentials basic certificate is a self-assessed process. This is a relatively straightforward step in the certification scheme that can then lead to Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation following a successful independent assessment.
