Welcome to our second installment into what goes on behind the scenes here at Equilibrium. The blog highlights some of the key projects that we have delivered this week.
This week our engineers have been providing post-implementation training for a major IT provider on a new secure network environment that we installed over the past few months. The environment includes multiple IPS/IDS and NGFW firewalls.
We had a last minute request from a large council to upgrade several firewalls at multiple locations for an upcoming compliance check. The firewalls need to run the latest version of code as older versions of operating system can contain bugs and vulnerabilities which have the potential to be exploited maliciously.
Following on from an implementation we delivered abroad last month, we started the process of IPS Signature Tuning. Signature Tuning is a long process that we carry out over an extended period of time, especially in a large organisation such as this one. It involves analysing the logs from an Intrusion Detection System and tuning them to reduce the number of false positives. This process prevents the customer from receiving a barrage of emails at 2 am alerting them to an issue which is not actually there!
Hopefully this gives you a bit of an insight into the kind of work we do. If you would like to know more, then
